About iTero Element® 5D
The iTero Element 5D is the first intraoral scanner that uses near-infrared imaging (NIRI) technology which scans the internal structure of teeth in real time. This captures images of both the enamel and dentin that can be compared over time using iTero® TimeLapse. NIRI technology can monitor and detect tooth decay without exposing patients to harmful radiation. With this imaging system, dentists can efficiently and effectively scan every patient at every visit and visualize treatment options together that result in more informed decisions for optimum oral care.
