Now you can Straighten your teeth without the need for braces. Invisalign is the preferred way to straighten teeth without the need for braces. The aligners are clear and removable which makes it much more convenient and flexible than traditional braces. Invisalign uses a state of the art BPA-free plastic mold that is smooth, comfortable and won’t irritate your cheeks or gums.
Here is a breakdown of how to get started with Invisalign, and what the treatment process looks like.
Step One: Talk to an Invisalign Provider
The first step to a straighter smile is to call White Plains Dental. During your initial consultation your doctor will discuss your personal needs during a thorough smile assessment. During this time you will also be provided with information regarding costs, insurance programs, and we will answer any questions you may have about the treatment process.
Step Two: Customizing Treatment
The next step is to start customizing the treatment plan to your personal needs. This will include a dental x-ray in addition to ample pictures and impressions of your teeth which will be used to create a digital 3-D image of them. From here, your doctor will be able to plan ideal movement of your teeth and length of treatment. You’ll even be able to see a virtual representation of what your teeth will look like when the process is over!
Step Three: Receiving your Aligners
Using the series of images and 3D representation of your teeth, the Invisalign molds are made. The molds are created in a customized series that are designed to move your teeth little by little. This takes the place of the tightening of wires, which is used in traditional braces. You’ll receive a series of aligners that will guide your teeth into proper position, often over the course of about a year.
Step Four: Wearing your Aligners
This is the key step to Invisalign success! For Invisalign to work you need to wear your aligners consistently. You will take the aligners out when you eat, drink and brush your teeth. About every two weeks you’ll put a new aligner in to help your teeth make their transition into the ideal position.
Step Five: Smile!
Every smile is different, so the exact length of treatment will be customized for your personal needs. For most people, the entire Invisalign process takes about a year from start to finish. Once the treatment process is over, you will have the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Talk to your doctor about preserving your smile with vivera retainers, designed to work perfectly with the Invisalign program to keep your smile in tip-top shape for good.
