What Counts as a Dental Emergency

If you're experiencing any of these, call us immediately. We prioritize emergency patients and will work to see you the same day.

Severe Toothache

Persistent, throbbing pain that doesn't respond to over-the-counter painkillers.

Broken or Chipped Tooth

Cracked, fractured, or broken teeth from injury or biting hard objects.

Knocked-Out Tooth

A tooth completely dislodged from the socket — time-sensitive treatment needed.

Swelling or Abscess

Facial swelling, pus, or a bump on the gums indicating infection.

Lost Filling or Crown

A filling or crown that has fallen out, exposing sensitive tooth structure.

Bleeding That Won't Stop

Persistent bleeding from the gums or after an extraction that doesn't subside.

While You Wait

What to Do Before You Get Here

Quick first-aid tips to manage pain and protect your teeth until we can see you.

Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek. Avoid aspirin directly on gums.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root). Rinse gently, do not scrub. Place it back in the socket or keep it in milk. Get here within 30 minutes.

Broken Tooth

Rinse your mouth with warm water. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them with you.

Swelling / Abscess

Rinse with mild salt water several times. Do not pop or squeeze the abscess. Apply a cold compress externally. Seek care urgently — infections can spread.

Lost Filling or Crown

Apply clove oil to the sensitive area if available. Use sugar-free gum or dental cement as a temporary cover. Avoid chewing on that side.
